IoT

PTP Integrated’s Internet of Things (IoT) Services helps organisations connect assets, machines, facilities, people and operational environments to the digital enterprise by turning real-world activity into actionable data, intelligent decisions and measurable business outcomes.

WHAT WE DO

What's included

IoT platforms and cloud integration

Connect devices and operational data to scalable cloud and IoT platforms, enabling centralised management, analytics, automation and enterprise-wide visibility.

IoT data and analytics

Convert high-volume sensor and telemetry data into actionable intelligence through real-time analytics, anomaly detection, visualisation, predictive models and performance insights.

Predictive maintenance

Use connected asset data and analytics to identify emerging equipment issues and enable proactive maintenance before failures materially disrupt operations.

IoT and enterprise application integration

Integrate IoT data and events with ERP, CRM, EAM, SCM, analytics and other enterprise platforms so that physical-world events can trigger business processes and decisions.

IoT and intelligent automation

Connect IoT events to automated workflows, enabling the enterprise to respond to operational conditions without relying on manual intervention.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The Internet of Things (IoT) connects physical assets, machines, vehicles, buildings and equipment, to your business systems through sensors that capture data such as location, temperature, usage and condition. That data flows to a platform where it is monitored, analysed and turned into action, from a maintenance alert to an automated reorder. In effect, your physical operations start reporting on themselves.

The most common local use cases are asset and fleet tracking, smart building management, energy monitoring, and condition monitoring of equipment in sectors like manufacturing, mining and utilities. Energy management has particular weight in South Africa, where visibility of consumption directly protects both cost and continuity. The best starting point is a single measurable problem, not a technology rollout.

IoT platforms feed their data into your ERP, asset management and analytics systems through integrations, so a sensor reading can trigger a real business transaction such as a work order or a stock movement. Without that connection, IoT is just another dashboard nobody acts on. Designing the data flow into your existing processes is where the value is made or lost.

IoT introduces real security considerations, because every connected device is a potential entry point, but the risks are manageable with proper practice: device authentication, network segmentation, encrypted data in transit and disciplined patching. Security should be designed in from the first device, not retrofitted after an incident. Governance of the data the devices collect matters just as much as the devices themselves.

Start small: pick one asset type or one site, run a limited pilot with clear success measures, and scale only once the value is proven. PTP Integrated (PTPI) approaches IoT the way it approaches every technology, people and process first, so the pilot is designed around a business decision you need to make better.
